In water-circulating heating systems, heat is stored in the energy accumulator’s water using a heating device. The energy accumulator acts as storage for heated water, which can be used to heat water in the heating circulation or domestic water.
An energy accumulator as part of the heating system
Energy accumulators play an important role in heating. They are suitable for use with various sources of heat and allow for the parallel use of several heat sources. Energy accumulators are eco-friendly since they help to load the heating device with high and even output, thus achieving the best efficiency.
Energy accumulators are selected according to their intended purpose, heating needs and heating method. Several energy sources can be connected to an energy accumulator at once, meaning that energy can be stored from the energy source, which is cheaper or in use at a given time.
The energy accumulator also acts to even out energy production and needs; heat is stored in the accumulator and used as needed.
Buffer tanks provide additional water capacity for heating systems.
A larger water capacity ensures a steady and sufficient flow in the heating system and improves the operation and efficiency of the heat pump. A larger water capacity extends the operation period of the compressor while also extending its life cycle. Buffer tanks are available for various different needs: a basic buffer tank model for increasing water capacity, the SV buffer tank equipped with resistors, the PW buffer tank equipped with two preheating coils can be used to preheat hot domestic water and the 300L modular buffer tank is also suitable for use in small spaces.
