Our new Gebwell G-Eco® building heat pumps offer an environmentally friendly, energy-efficient solution for heating and cooling buildings.
The heat pump technology is based on changes in the refrigerant’s state at different temperatures and pressures, first from liquid to vapour, and then back to liquid. Conventional heat pumps use synthetic fluorinated gases as refrigerants. The new F-Gas Regulation, which took effect in 2024, will gradually phase out fluorinated gases in heat pumps due to their high Global Warming Potential (GWP).
Our Gebwell G-Eco heat pumps use natural R290 refrigerant, a much more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional refrigerants such as R410A. The main benefit of R290, also known as propane, is its very low GWP of only 0.02.
This significant difference makes R290 a popular choice for the energy-efficient heat pumps of the future. In addition, R290 works at low operating pressures, making it a great option for heat pumps. When you choose a G-Eco heat pump with R290 refrigerant for your building, you are making a sustainable choice compatible with the demands of tomorrow.
