Two-way district heating at Sokos Hotel Vaakuna block in Joensuu
The Sokos Hotel Vaakuna block in Joensuu has implemented a two-way district heating system. The property, which includes the hotel, seven restaurants, and a grocery store, primarily uses district heating for its energy needs. Additionally, waste heat recovered from the building’s ventilation system is reused.
This recovered energy is utilized via heat pumps to heat the hotel and produce domestic hot water or is redirected back into Savon Voima’s district heating network. The system was installed by our partner, LVI-Bioneerit.
