Jospak Oy’s Premises Heated and Cooled with Geothermal Energy

Jospak Oy, a leader in renewable and recyclable packaging, chose an eco-friendly geothermal system for heating and cooling their new 4,000-square-meter facility in Forssa, inaugurated in September 2022. The facility includes production, storage, office, and semi-heated spaces, totaling 25,000 cubic meters. Geothermal energy significantly reduces energy consumption compared to the company’s previous district-heated property.

Efficient Heating and Cooling System

Heating is managed by a Gebwell Taurus 110 EVI heat pump, which also heats domestic water up to 58°C using a desuperheater. Backup is provided by an electric boiler, which hasn’t been required. Cooling is sourced from eight 250-meter geothermal wells, utilizing both passive and active cooling modes, with a water cooler for extreme heat. Waste heat from cooling is recycled back into the wells, while cooling is distributed through ventilation and convectors.

Smooth Installation and Operation

HVAC and automation were completed with Humppilan Putkiasennus Oy and Kylmäkeskus Sami. The system, customized and delivered on time by Gebwell, was easy to commission, with adjustments ensuring flawless operation.

System delivered
