Pekka, Summer Worker

Pekka, who is studying to become a mechanical engineer at Savonia University of Applied Sciences in Kuopio, starts his second year of studies in the autumn. He has spent the summer of 2025 at Gebwell as one of the designers on the 3D design team, which operates as part of sales.

During his summer job, he has been responsible in particular for making 3D models, technical drawings and production orders for special accumulators. He has also updated the 3D parts library and gotten a close-up look at what a designer’s work involves in practice.

“I’ve gained hands-on experience in what a designer’s job involves and what it requires. I’ve also come to understand what a product’s full production process involves,” Pekka says.

Pekka names the great team and helpful colleagues as the best part of his summer job.

“I’ve learned a lot of new things from my colleagues, and whenever I’ve needed help with a task, I’ve gotten it. As I’ve gained experience, I’ve also been given more responsibility and trust.”

The job has also offered valuable learning in using modeling software – skills that will surely be useful going forward too.

“In particular, my 3D modeling and technical drawing courses, along with my own interest in these areas, have helped me in my tasks.”

He could see himself coming back to Gebwell later on too:

“Yes, I’d be very happy to come back. A knowledgeable team along with interesting and challenging tasks appeal to me.”

Finally, he has a message for future summer job applicants:
